And if not, do you have a plan B?

A marrow escape? May 22, 2019

Sounds great. Why this particular choice of vegetable?

Probably May 22, 2019

Since the age of retirement is forever rising in Sweden, I'll probably keep on translating (and enjoy it).
Plan B would be retirement (I'll be 68 in 2029).

I love words and what I do, but in 10 years, I want to be writing full-time.

I do not care May 22, 2019

I have learnt that life can change totally within a second, so I do not make plans for the next 10 years.
Neither in my private nor in my professional life.

All downhill from here :D May 22, 2019

I will be hitting what has traditionally been seen as retirement age in 10 years' time, but no plans to stop. However, I seriously doubt I will be doing much translation myself, even though I may well still be running my business...

Oh well I’ll just have to do just a few reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally, did I say reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally, well paid jobs for a few select, very friendly, stress-free, stress-free, stress-free clients who pay the day before yesterday, anytime I’m not gardening of course.
That’s the plan anyway.

Have to say none of you look your age. Andrew I could swear that was you on the cover of that new romantic album, mind you, few years back that, and Vera 68 you must be joking, you look about half that, must be the Swedish air, or maybe me eyesight is finally giving up the ghost……………..

It's the Barcelona air...

...and you should see the portrait in the attic.

Or maybe mid-50s is simply not that old any more.

To think that Spanish describes "middle-aged" people as cuarentón or cuarentona, based of course on the word cuarenta, for forty...

40 years old seems positively youthful from where I stand...

Since I'm 63 yo, in 4 years time I'll be a pensioner. I'll probably keep doing a bit of work afterwards, but whether it'll be ten years is doubtful.

If I could predict the future... May 22, 2019

I would be buying many more winning lottery tickets here and now...

And then, of course, NO! I would not be translating in 10 years' time. I would be writing...

P.S. That would not be a Plan B, though, but the original Plan A fulfilled.
