Following the instructions in the MemoQ knowledgebase (https://kb.kilgray.com/article/AA-00643/0/General-error:-Corrupt-Monolingual-review-xml-file.html and https://kb.kilgray.com/article/AA-00208/20/General-Error:-Corrupt-memoQLog-file.html), I have deleted the Monolingualreview.xml file and the MemoQLite.log file, but the problem persists.

The extended error message reads thus:

Das Dokument oder Projekt kann nicht geöffnet werden.
Allgemeiner Fehler.

MESSAGE:
Fehler im XML-Dokument (0,0).

Deleting the TermExtract.xml file fixed it.

I have all the sudden the same problem as Gert Sass:

I cannot open any projects in MemoQ 2015 (version 7.8.167)

I tried the links Gert indicates, looking for all the files indicated there to be deleted - but there are no such files on my computer.

I tried the links Gert indicates, looking for all the files indicated there to be deleted - but there are no such files on my computer.

Unfortunately there is no TermBaset.xml (which should be deleted) on my computer ...

And yes, I have downloaded and installed every releases possible.
