Indische immigranten van divers generaties hebben verschillende manieren bedacht om hun ervaringen in diaspora uit te drukken. Dit is een postkoloniaal onderzoek naar de literatuur van de Nederlands-Indische diaspora in de 20ste eeuw. Punten van onderzoek om deze studie te leiden zijn: wat zijn de gevolgen van de koloniale geschiedenis op de betrekkingen tussen de Indische immigranten en Nederlandse burgers? Waar ontstaat het cultuurconflict? Zoeken de figuren van deze boeken bewust naar een Nederlandse eigenheid of niet? Analyses van Indische postkoloniale literatuur laten zien dat koloniale geschiedenis, culturele wrijvingen, en de kwestie van Nederlandse en Indische eigenheid allemaal belangrijk zijn in de Indisch-Nederlandse ervaring, ook al zijn individuele ervaringen behoorlijk uiteenlopend. De bedoeling van deze studie is om vragen te stellen in plaats van antwoorden te geven over de voortdurende problematiek van ras en cultuur in een wereld waar de lijnen die ons apart houden steeds meer vervagen.	Vertaling - Engels Postcolonial Indo-Dutch Literature and the Indo Experience in the Netherlands Since the founding of Dutch colonies in the former East Indies, the movement of native Indonesians and Dutch alike has created an Indo-Dutch diaspora in the Netherlands. Throughout this influx, Indo-Dutch immigrants of various generations have found different ways to express their experience of diaspora. This is a postcolonial investigation of literature produced by the Indo-Dutch diaspora in the 20th century. The points of inquiry that will guide this study are: What are some of the consequences of colonial history on the relations between the Dutch and Indonesian immigrants living in the Netherlands? Where does cultural clash surface? Are the characters in these stories deliberately searching for a Dutch identity or not? The analysis of Indo-Dutch postcolonial literature shows that colonial history, cultural friction and the negotiation of Dutch and Indo identity are all large factors in the Indo-Dutch experience, although individual experiences differ considerably. The intention of this study is to pose questions rather than provide answers for the ongoing discourse on race and culture in a world where the lines that divide us are increasingly blurred.
