Brontekst - Engels Growing cartilage from joints by natural means. This surgery utilizes the latest conservative surgical technique and Swiss technology. Trauma, major physical stresses and various joint diseases cause damage to the cartilage in the knee and ankle. These patients most commonly complain of pain when moving about, swollen joints, a scraping sensation in the joints and limited joint mobility. Patients with damaged knee and ankle cartilage are treated using the AMIC® technique. The damaged cartilage is grown using the body's natural regenerative processes. Deep and extensive damage to the cartilage is treated in a similar manner. This surgery takes a total of 40 minutes. The surgery is arthroscopic and does not involve any major incisions. Special instruments are used to clean up defects in the cartilage. Small openings are made in the bones, through which stem cells are formed in the bone marrow. The AMIC® procedure involves the growth of joint cartilage, which is regenerated over a period of 2 - 3 months. The patient can be discharged to return home as early as on the day after surgery. Only a small scar will remain after the surgery.

Trauma, grote fysieke spanningen en verschillende gewrichtsaandoeningen veroorzaken schade aan het kraakbeen in de knie en enkel. Deze patiënten klagen meestal over pijn bij het bewegen, gezwollen gewrichten, een schrapend gevoel in de gewrichten en beperkte gewrichtsmobiliteit. Patiënten met een beschadigd knie- en enkelkraakbeen worden behandeld met de AMIC® techniek. Het beschadigde kraakbeen groeit met behulp van de natuurlijke regeneratieve processen van het lichaam. Diepe en uitgebreide schade aan het kraakbeen wordt op dezelfde manier behandeld. Deze operatie duurt in totaal 40 minuten. De operatie is artroscopisch en omvat geen grote incisies. Besides the above mentioned translation tasks I have been managing a translation project for the automotive industry for several years. This was a very technical translation project that required a lot of research to make sure that all the translations would make sense for the end user of the devices. In this project I was appointed as a manager to supervise a team of approximately 75 translators in several different languages.
