Ghaflat aur Kohtiayon Main Darguzar - غفلت اور کوتاہیوں میں درگزر فرمانا
Explanation:
The best translation according to the context is that Holy Prophet (PBUH) was a very kind hearted and prudent personality. He knew that a man is to err and can be at times lazy and might have problems. That is why he extenuated them.

"a main characteristic of prophet's life was extenuation of indolences and shortcomings of his companions."

نبی آخر الزماں (حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہہ وسلم) کی حیات مبارکہ کا ایک اہم وصف اپنے رفقاء کی غفلت اور کوتاہیوں سےدرگزر فرمانا تھا۔

Explanation:
It is very difficult to give the exact meanings of this phrase without the proper reference to the context; I hope this will be the best option without any reference.

extenuation of indolence and shortcomings
کاہلی اور کوتائیوں میں تخفیف یا کمی

Explanation:
Although the meanings of indolence in all the English to Urdu dictionaries are given as, آرام طلبی، کاہلی ، سستی etc. but there is a subtle difference in the meaning of آرام طلبی and ، کاہلی. If we consult Standard English to English dictionaries e.g. Oxford, Collins etc. or Ajeeb Multilingual Dictionary than کاہلی is a better word for indolence. Shortcomings can be translated as کوتاہیا ں۔. Also I think the extenuation meaning کمی یا تخفیف is used for both indolence and shortcomings.
