French term or phrase: Stimuler l'esprit de chambrée
I don't think that "barracks room atmosphere" or anything too military would be appropriate here. This is a header and the text goes on to discuss ways of helping families to accommodate children staying overnight (grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews etc., sometimes in large numbers) in fun ways.

I am looking for a catchy header. Perhaps something to do with Scouts, or holiday camp dormitories. On the other hand, I fear that using boarding school imagery might either evoke '60s children's books based on upper-class schoolchildren, or local authority boarding schools for children at risk of abuse or delinquency.

Make it like a camping trip

Explanation:
I really enjoyed camping when I was a boy scout...

Everyone mucking in, staying awake later than usual talking, until sternly told to go to sleep by the grown-ups, the element of adventure...

neutral  philgoddard: I'm not sure this fits with the additional context I've provided, though you may disagree.

-> Interesting, though I think I'd still consider this, since it really refers to the fun of the experience rather than the physical facilities. For children, sharing a room and sharing a tent are similar, I think; it's the complicity they enjoy.

agree  Sheri P: I think this could work. A slight variation might be 'Make it feel like camping out'.

Go for dormitory-style flexibility

Explanation:
The original seems to comprise a sense of 'utmost flexibility' as well i.e. moving/folding beds? (Or just 'dormitory-style living' instead?)

Do it as a dorm?

If it's a furniture retailer it will be addressing potential buyers.

agree  Sheri P: I like this, too. Depends on how 'catchy' B D would like it to be.
