Ich habe Schwierigkeiten mit dem **, der wohl einen Zeitraum beschreibt. Und müsste "starts" nicht eigentlich "started" heissen?

Jedenfalls, meine vorläufige Übersetzung geht so:

Versäumt es ein Arbeitgeber *mehr als einen Monat aber weniger als ein Jahr*, nachdem der Arbeitgeber seine Beschäftigung beim Arbeitgeber aufgenommen hat, einen schriftlichen Arbeitsvertrag mit einem Arbeitnehmer zu schliessen, zahlt der Arbeitgeber dem Arbeitnehmer das doppelte Monatsentgelt.

disagree  Christine Döring: IMO bezieht sich der Zeitraum nicht auf den Vertrag, sondern auf die Dauer, die der Angestellte bereit für diesen Arbeitgeber arbeitet.
