Hi Alexander, I had a question in November: Hüttenzauber. Have you checked the glossary?
here are my entries. Have fun :-))
Magic........................cabin
Experience the magic of New Year in a cosy mountain cabin.
This moves the "magic" from cabin to the celebrations, but it allows word
economy which is vital in English marketing.
It now reads two ways:
Experience the (magic of New Year) in a cosy mountain cabin.
or:
Experience the magic of (New year in a cosy mountain cabin).
Not bad methinks!

Hüttenzauber is not about fairy-tale - as far as I can recall / it's about a cosy / earthy experience, having a fab time in good company.
Similar to this and very popular New Year (Hogmanay) in cabins / lodges in
Scotland.

and a lounge area where you can meet new friends and enjoy the relaxed

I would turn it around a little bit (as they taught us in translation theory hehehe)
and say:
"Experience a fairy-tale New Year in the mountains in one of our (charming/rustic)
log cabins"
or even:
"Experience the magic of New Year in the mountains in one of our fairy-tale log cabins"

Thanks for all the replies, almost like a mountain avalanche. All the suggestions were helpful and the prize goes to Daniela for the context. Within the context I decided to got with "real Bavarian mountain lodge party". SOmewhat long but covering all bases.

A huettenabend is when you hire a hut in a forest with some friends, bring wine and beer, etc, etc.
Not sure if the translation I have given sounds very good, but this is generally what it is - kind of rustic, beer-mug-swinging get-together with food usually too.

After we had this question under Huettenzauber and we all answered cabin/log etc. I realized chalet would be the better choice. It's used far more amongst English (UK?) speakers for this type of places.
