Spanish term

percepciones-prospección

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Marketing / Market Research Surveys
SPAIN. I know what "percepciones" means and am aware of how "prospección" is used in market research, but this binomial piece of jargon is annoying me so much I can't get past it. The 2 instances of "acerca" so close together are also harshing my mellow. All suggestions welcome :)

"En [Company name] queremos hacer un estudio internacional para obtener insights (sector automoción) acerca de percepciones-prospección acerca de aspectos relacionados con el coche del futuro."

@phil Nah, it's for a new client of a market research company I do a lot of stuff for. It's basically an e-mail asking for estimates to do with outsourcing some of the tasks in the survey (interviews,…). But it's so badly written it's like the techno equivalent of something hastily scribbled on the back of a (used) napkin...
philgoddard Nov 21, 2018:
I wonder if it's one of those fake surveys where they're not interested in your opinion and just want your email address.
Charles Davis Nov 21, 2018:
No, it just reminded me of it. It's the name of an album by Bewitched (I had to look it up).
There will never be another Shaun Ryder. I still love the Happy Mondays.
Robert Carter Nov 21, 2018:
Ha! Is it really from that Mondays' song? Must have heard it a hundred times.

"You're twistin' my melon, man, you know you talk so hip, man, you're twistin' my melon, man.
Call the cops!"

I'm thinking "prospección" means "lead generation" here, right?
How about (about again?):
"to draw insights about perceptions and lead generation [on aspects] relating to the car of the future"
"On aspects" is probably unnecessary too.
Btw, "harshing my mellow" is just precious :-) Am I missing a reference there?

perceptions research

Note from asker:
Maybe.... I might ask the client exactly what they mean, but they'll probably just tell me it's industry jargon.
I'm starting to like this more and more. So far, the responses from the client have been rather vague... :)

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I eventually used something like “an international prospective research study to gain insights … into perceptions of aspects related to…” A bit wordy perhaps, like the original, but I think it works. "
