Just heard about this new feature which you activate by ticking a box in Box, Automation but this feature does not appear in my version, although I updated it. Any idea why?

Hi. I can see this option in File/Options/Editor/Automation.
Look for 'Enable LookAhead'. Its the 9th box listed on the right-hand side.

If you don't see it, best to contact SDL.

Do you have SR1 installed? Aug 3, 2017

Hi Ollie,

It looks to me that you have Studio 2017 without SR1 installed, so if you don't see the LookAhead option, it is ok.

Hi Natalie,
Trados was updated, I downloaded the lastest update from my account and reinstall it just to stay on the safe side. I have version 14.0.5889.5. Could it be that it is the freelance version?

Hi Ollie,

In case you wish to use the LookAhead feature - no, it is not the right version: your software is not updated to SR1. The newest version is "SDL Trados Studio 2017 SR1 - 14.1.6284.6"

To update, click the "Check for updates" option in Studio ribbon.

Natalie, you were right!
I assumed I had updated Trados to the SR1 version using the update feature within Trados. It looks like the SR1 version needs to downloaded to do the update. I have done just that and the LookAhead feature is now present. Thank you, Natalie.
