I am a language trainer(courses, bachelor and master studies) and I have always loved the interaction with the students. It is great to see them improve their skills by reacting on a story of mine, or a joke, commend or question. Similar to the relation instructor-student is the relation between text and reader. In this relation there must also 'be breath', it must live. The text must communicate with its reader as if it is a person. That is my passion for or, if you want, my philosophy of translation.

I like to translate medical and technical texts because of the incessant search for detailed accuracy and commercial texts (e.g. tourism) because of the search for the rhetorical optimum, that strengthens the text's credibility.

My mother tongue is Dutch and I have a proficiency level in the cluster Croatian-Serbian-Bosnian (I live in Zagreb) and in English and German.
As a private person I love to read about sciences, philosophy and literature.

I have found out that the simple things in life are the best, and that means cooking great meals with simple ingredients, enjoying the company of a few good friends, strolling in the mountains, jogging in the city parks. When I am not tired of translating professionally, I like to translate poetry, just for myself. I also enjoy making drawings. And reading good books...
