Hi Deborah,

Despite the explanation you've been provided, could this expression simply mean that an expert will design the site on-site at the client company's premises?

This might be a service that allows clients to give immediate feedback as to the layout and design of their sites without resorting to remote viewing and lenghty explanations over the phone.

Certainly, if they're not courses or tutorials, the term 'presencial' doesn't mean much to me if it doesn't refer to something like this.

As I understand it, the websites they design are just made to make "presence", i.e. to simply show the existence of a firm, by making it appear on the web.

Web presence (see below), and more in general "presence" on media is a very common term in communication and marketing.

In marketing, a company is "present" or has "presence" when it appears on the media. It might exist, but it only becomes "present" when the consumer/user/audience sees/hears it on the media.

We live in a mediated world! If you're not on the media, you are just not there! :-)
