"Ellipsis of the verb" would be better if you are already talking about ellipsis. In other words, in an NP, what you're talking about comes first, your "point," or newest information," should stick out at the end. The expanded form is also CLEARER.

BTW, it should be "ellipsis." Looking again at your text, "verbal ellipsis" is probably better because you're already talking about verbs. So I suggest you choose the other answer!
