Italian term

è stato diverso

is it me or is there a piece missing? Unless it's Financial jargon, it should read 'è stato trovato' or something like that, shouldn't it?

"was siginificantly different from zero"

maybe it's just a convoluted or pedantic way of writing ? The phrase

"è stato significativamente diverso da zero un coefficiente sull’estensione dell'area interessata" could be reconstructed as

No, looks fine to me - the subject of è stato is the coefficient.

which was substantially non-zero/divergent from zero for each of the macroinsiemi (macro-sets).
