Spanish term

Páncreas de morfología y señal conservada

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general)
Medical report from Chile. The word order makes no sense. Here's part of the text:

"Vena porta principal y sus ramas intrahepáticas permeables, al igual que las venas suprahepáticas, vena esplenica y vena mesentérica superior. Páncreas de morfología y señal conservada. Conducto pancreático principal fino."

My guess is it should be written as "Morfología de páncreas..." ("Morphology of (the) pancreas" gets some hits on the web)

the pancrease shows normal morphology and signal characteristics

The word order is fine.

You've left out that this is a CT scan. It's just telling you that the shape (morphology) and signal are normal. ("de" = "shows" or "exhibits" or something along these lines)

oops ... I often misspell "pancreas" as "pancrease" (almost did it again)

examples:

"The pontine emergence of the trigeminal nerves and the acoustic-facial packages are symmetrical, of normal morphology and signal intensity bilaterally..."

"December 1998 MRI of the thoracic spine revealed no evidence of disc herniation or discrete bulge, and the spinal cord showed normal morphology and signal characteristics."

(Or is it an MRI?)

Be sure you translate "permeables" as "patent" -- not "permeable."
