It once happened that a client did not receive the file I had sent to them. This was the only occassion on which I really "missed" the deadline, even if it hasn't been my "fault", just a technical glitch.
I usually try to contact my client to inform them if I can't deliver on time. Most of the time, my clients are able to extend the deadline. If they cannot, I try to work extra hours to deliver on time.

to all of you who have never missed a deadline -I wish I could say the same! Ever since I had my daughter (getting on for 3 years now), I have found it increasingly difficult to cram everything into days when the unexpected seems to occur more often than not... And sometimes deadlines are extremely tight. So, any secrets of success out there to share so that those of us who didn't hit the "No, never" button can become more efficient (and still get some sleep)?
