I´m a native Dutch translator (language variety: Netherlands), graduated in 1989 at the Dutch State School for Translators and Interpreters in Maastricht, Netherlands - nowadays Translation Academy - (language combination: Dutch, Spanish, French/specialization: law, administration and politics/degree: B.Tr). After graduating, I studied English MO-A (teaching English) at the Hogeschool Katholieke Leergangen Sittard, also in the Netherlands. Although not having a specific education in German, I grew up near the German border and therefore have a good passive working knowledge of the language, plus long-term practical experience translating from German to Dutch.

I´ve been working as a freelance translator and terminological researcher for Eurodicautom (the EU terminology bank, now IATE) and as a secretary for two international organizations (Maastricht School for Management and the United Nations University for New Technologies/working language English). During the last 8 years in the Netherlands, I worked for the Dutch Police Customer Service Center where I, amongst other things, assisted English, Spanish, French or German speakers with translating and interpreting. I live and work in Spain since March 2006 as a freelance translator and interpreter/intermediary for English, Spanish, French, German and Dutch people who  need assistance in dealing with authorities, official documentation, site management, builders, etc.

Being a freelance translator/terminologist since my graduation in 1989, I´ve got ample translation experience in all my language combinations and in several subjects. However, I specialize in more creative translations like tourism and travel, advertising, press communications, marketing, etc.
