RMTRS is operated by Robert Kleemaier, BA, BTr, CT, CRS, CIS, a seasoned, certified translator, résumé writer and interview coach who has lived the immigrant story himself.
Born and raised in Kelowna, BC, Canada, Robert received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1991 from the University of Victoria. During his final year he was also awarded a Rotary Foundation ambassadorial scholarship to study German history and politics at Heidelberg University, where he met his wife, Nicole. A career in applied linguistics began to beckon, and within a few years Robert earned a Bachelor of Translation degree from the Department of Translation and Interpreting of the Faculty of International Business and Communication at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
Robert proceeded to cut his teeth in the translation industry and be sworn in as a certified translator at the District Court of Breda, the Netherlands. More than 10 years after leaving Canada, he and his then young family relocated to his hometown to start a translation agency serving the Dutch notarial market.
Fast forward roughly another decade and Nicole had already completed a post-graduate course to become a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant. After the launch of her new business, Red Moose Immigration Services Inc., the demand for the translation of immigration-related documentation eventually grew to the point where Robert could no longer ignore it. By then some clients were also starting to ask for their CVs to be converted into résumés. Having discovered how satisfying the latter can be, Robert decided in 2019 to meet both needs by launching a new business with a special focus on immigration-related documentation: Red Moose Translation & Résumé Services.
Regarding qualifications, Robert is a member in good standing of:
- the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia (STIBC); and
- the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO).
He has been certified for Dutch-English translations since 2010 and acts as Project Manager when required. Robert is also a member in good standing of:
- Career Professionals of Canada (CPC).
He augmented his skill set by successfully completing several post-graduate courses in advanced résumé development and employment interview coaching, obtaining his certifications in 2020 and 2022, respectively.
