VIADOTTO VERTALINGEN Letters, symbols, images and languages fascinated me from a very early
age on. I chose to develop myself with two
studies in university that approach communication from two different angles:
Fine Art, that is: communicating the unspeakable with images, and
Greek and Latin languages and cultures, that is: sharpening your
brain to the awareness of minute linguistic differences and their implication for
the meaning of the text. For a decade or so I combined my work as a
teacher in high school of Latin and Greek where my first responsibility was to
instruct students how to translate, with my projects as a professional artist
presenting sculptures, installations and poetical performances. Then I decided
to follow my lifelong desire to discover life in Italy, and to learn Italian. Since five years I sustain my country life of organic gardening and beekeeping in
the Appennine mountains of Tuscany with my work as a translator and revisor. My
favourite themes are nature, literature, art and architecture, but I like to
learn about many different subject matters with every translation assignment I
receive. |
