| Translation - English
On motorways, traffic travelling in opposite directions is always physically separated (e.g. by a median strip), and exiting and entering is through specified acceleration and deceleration lanes. Two of the main risk factors of traffic accidents are therefore removed, which in turn means the risk of accidents is lower on motorways than on other roads.
Note that on semi-motorways, traffic travelling in opposition directions is not necessarily physically separated.
