Etnisch profileren door de Nederlandse politie overstijgt het niveau van opzichzelfstaande incidenten. Inventarisatie en analyse van bestaande onderzoeken naar de uitvoering van de politietaak, veiligheidsbeleid en discriminatie, en andere openbare bronnen levert aanwijzingen op voor het plaatsvinden van etnisch profileren. Om inzicht te verkijgen in de omvang van etnisch profileren dient de Nederlandse overheid kwantitatieve gegevens te verzamelen over politiecontroles en het aantal gecontroleerde personen, uitgesplitst naar leeftijd, huidskleur en geslacht.
De laatste jaren spraken diverse internationale mensenrechtenorganen, waaronder het Mensenrechtencomité van de Verenigde Naties en de Europese Commissie tegen Racisme en Intolerantie (ECRI), hun zorgen uit over etnisch profileren in Nederland. Deze organen riepen de Nederlandse overheid op tot grotere inspanningen om etnisch profileren tegen te gaan, en om de uitvoering van de politietaak te monitoren op het plaatsvinden ervan. Tot op heden heeft de Nederlandse overheid nauwelijks opvolging gegeven aan deze aanbevelingen.
Met dit rapport wil Amnesty International een bijdrage leveren aan de discussie over etnisch profileren in Nederland. Amnesty roept de Nederlandse overheid en politie op om het bestaan van etnisch profileren te onderkennen, de praktijk af te wijzen, meer inspanningen te verrichten om het te voorkomen, en de uitvoering van de politietaak te monitoren op het plaatsvinden ervan.

Discrimination on the basis of ethnicity by the Dutch police takes place on a larger scale than that of mere incidental occurrences. Making an inventory and an analysis of current research into the implementation of the task allocated to the police, into present policy in matters of security and discrimination, as well as other public sources other public sources indicate that discrimination on the basis of ethnicity does in fact take place. In order to gain insight into the extent of such discrimination, the Dutch government should gather quantitative data on police checks and the number of persons checked, graded into categories of age, colour of skin and gender.
In recent years various international organisations concerned with human rights, among others the Committee for Human Rights of the United Nations and the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI), have expressed their concern in the matter of discrimination on the basis of ethnicity in the Netherlands. These organisations called on the Dutch government to make greater efforts to counter discrimination on ethnic grounds, and to monitor more closely the task allocated to the police by checking whether this has in fact taken place. Up to the present time the Dutch government has hardly given heed to these recommendations.
In this report Amnesty International desires to contribute to the discussion on discrimination in the Netherlands on the basis of ethnicity. Amnesty calls upon the Dutch government and police to acknowledge the existence of discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, to reject its practice, to take greater pains to avoid it and to monitor the implementation of discrimination by the police inasmuch as such takes place.

Brontekst - Nederlands Het hoofdorgel
Het huidige orgel van de St. Servaasbasiliek in Maastricht kent een bewogen geschiedenis die begint in de Dominicanenkerk. De oorsprong van het orgel in deze nabij de St. Servaas gelegen kerk begint rond 1650. In de Dominicanenkerk bevond zich destijds een instrument in Zuid-Nederlandse/Vlaamse stijl met 19 stemmen, verdeeld over drie klavieren. In 1734 werd het orgel gewijzigd door Jean-Baptiste Le Picard. Deze Luikse orgelbouwer gaf het instrument een meer Waalse signatuur. Er was nu sprake van een groot instrument met op het Grand Orgue 14 stemmen, op het Positif 8 stemmen en op het Echo 6 stemmen. Dit laatste klavier was, geheel in zuidelijke traditie, slechts bespeelbaar in de discant.
Het eigen instrument van de St. Servaas, evenals een groot deel van de inventaris, was inmiddels door de perikelen van de Franse revolutie verloren gegaan. Het is tot op heden onbekend om wel instrument het precies ging. Uit archief¬gegevens blijkt dat er sprake moet zijn geweest van een zeer groot orgel.

The present organ in the St. Servaas Basilica has had an eventful history. Its origins date back to the early 1650s in the nearby Dominicanenkerk. At that time, this church had a 19-stop three-manual organ in the Southern Dutch and Flemish style. In 1734, the organ was altered by Jean-Baptiste Le Picard. This Liège organbuilder gave the instrument a more Wallonian character. This large instrument had 14 stops on the Grand Orgue, 8 stops on the Positif and 6 on the Echo. In accordance with southern tradition, the Echo was a half (treble) manual.
Due to the upheaval caused by the French Revolution, the organ in St. Servaas had been lost together with most of the articles and fittings in the church. To this day there are no exact data on the type of instrument, but records show that it must have been a rather large organ.

Have experience of translation of legal documents and educational diplomas.
Also have experience of translating websites with subjects as diverse as care organisations and the professional site of the professional Limburg (NL) organist, Marcel Verheggen.
In the spring of 2013 transferred from a career as a secondary school to that of translator.
I regard myself as a person who is still evolving. My interests are broad: apart from language studies (most recently Spanish, Irish Gaelic and Sanscrit), I am examining a new world view which looks for alternatives to the present global paradigm in the areas of politics, societal organisation and sustainable mangement of the environment.
