I worked for 13 years as translator/interpreter and scientific secretary at the Rheumatology Division of the University of Siena, Italy, also collaborating with the Italian Society for Rheumatology (SIR), the Italian League for Rheumatic and Autoimmune Diseases (LIMAR) and the School of Specialization in Cosmetic Science and Technology. It was a highly formative experience comprising several activities: from translation/adaptation of documents, copywriting, creative writing to the organization of congresses and seminars. The enrichment it provided me is something I treasure.
My work with patient associations especially shaped my vision of the world and that is why I maintain a very strong interest in all that relates to life and activities of such organizations and institutions.
In 2006 I decided to entirely change my life, move to a different city and started my professional activity as a full- time freelance translator. It is somehow a challenging job, but I love it, I love the opportunity to learn and communicate, it offers more than anything else.
My main specialization areas are: MEDICINE, MARKETING AND TECHNICAL TRANSLATIONS.
My working areas in the field of medicine are: medical devices, cardiology, rheumatology and rehabilitation, orthopedics, orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, immunology, radiology, paediatric surgery, gynaecology, nephrology, pharmacology, neurology, oncology and the range is constantly widening.
My areas of special expertise are: rheumatology and immunology , pharmacology, paediatric surgery, psychiatry, EMA docs (mainly on oncology and rheumatology drugs), medical questionnaires addressed to patients and physicians, medical devices such as pacemakers, electrical catheters, laparoscopy devices, etc., medical software.
Pharmaceutical marketing and marketing translations are also documents I work on with pleasure, and thanks to the cooperation with the School of Specialization in Cosmetic Science and Technology at the University of Siena, I can offer translation and proofreading services in the field of cosmetic science and products.
Flexibility, open-mindedness, curiosity and a positive outlook on life define me as a person and my relationship with my clients.
