Portuguese term

laje tecnica

Portuguese to English Law/Patents Real Estate description of apartment
I am proofreading a document and there is a description of an apartment for sale. It mentions the various rooms and areas and includes the term "laje tecnica". The person who translated the contract put this as "technical slab" but I have never ever heard this term. What do you think they mean? I already have a pantry and a service area! it's for US English. Thank you.

Thank you Teresa for the link. I now understand what they mean, at least.

mistakes The translation isn't that awful, actually, but yes, "technical slab" did scream out at me, as did interest rates of 13,000 per cent a year!!!
Thanks, Nick! ...

By the way.... "technical slab" ?!!!! The translator has GOT to be joking! Score: Professional Translator's 1 : Amateurs - NIL!

Or possibly - Utilities Room - but that might get confused with washing machine/dishwasher/laundry area
