This would be the formal way.

agree Christian Abildsoe (X) : It's something I'd end a cover letter with. With a friend, I would say "hjertelig hilsen" or just "hilsen".

But the ironic thing is that you almost never end a letter to a friend with "med venlig hilsen." It is almost always a formal affair, hence sincerely is the purtinent choice.
