Italian term
diffusione e divulgazione scientifica
Italian to English
Other
Science (general)
Two words I always have a problem with even when they occur singly, found together in a report on the activities of a scientific institute in this context: "...una vetrina espositiva in occasione dell’iniziativa di **diffusione e divulgazione scientifica** rivolta alle scuole e al pubblico**. Anyone have any ideas of a neat way of saying this? Thanks, Sarah.

Comment: "Very difficult to choose as it is such a "woolly" area (at least for me). This however seems to fit best in the context. Thanks to you all, Sarah. "

scientific popularization
This is how they usually call it. Italian i s a very repetitive language: I think "diffusione" and "divulgazione" can be summarized in popularization.

Note from asker:
Firstly thanks to you both. Jim, as ever, I have very little context. It's simply a list of this Institute's communications initiatives during the year, for a web site I think. |
