In the past, I\'ve also used \"Professional Quarrying Association\" but this term would fail to make clear that it\'s primarily about statutory accident insurance, and not about a Branchenverband or similar (the latter I\'d translate as \"Association of the Quarrying Industry\", or similar).

Comment: "Yes, I should have hit on this before - it's quite clear that an accident insurance organisation is meant. Thanks!"

quarry cooperative
There are two google hits for "quarry cooperative" (not very impressive, but for "quarrymen's cooperative" there are none!).
comparable entries in Dietl/Lorenz:
Baugenossenschaft- building cooperative
Handwerkergenossenschaft- craft cooperative
Hope this helps!

: Use of Genossenschaft in your examples does not correspond to what *Berufsgenossenschaften* were established for (i.e. statutory accident insurance). I have to admit that the name may be misleading.

quarry association
"Quarrying" is very unwieldy. UK doesn't use it. See Google.

: I'm quite astonished to hear that - may I cite only two of many relevant UK hits for "quarrying industry": http://www.cpre.org.uk/resources/pub/pdfs/policy-position-st... http://www.tuc.org.uk/learning/tuc-3912-f0.cfm
