Discussion

Miranda Joubioux (X) (asker) Feb 20, 2008:
No hassle! I've seen blunter than that before :-).
Drmanu49 Feb 20, 2008:
OK Miranda, I would go for a typo then because "indicer" is quite specific. By the way, sorry, I did not mean to be so blunt!
Miranda Joubioux (X) (asker) Feb 20, 2008:
Manu although you are right to make this distinction, I have much more information in the document than is given here. I am pretty certain that the supplier is not being asked to grade the defects and I half suspect a typo. Many thanks for your help!
Drmanu49 Feb 20, 2008:
Sorry to disagree with this, but indicer means to grade and point out is not grading i.e. giving an area a quality index.
Miranda Joubioux (X) (asker) Feb 19, 2008:
This may be of no help at all, but in the text just above, they already say that in the event of major deformation of the structural deck the defects should be coated by the yard, so I'm assuming they are referring to minor flaws.
Miranda Joubioux (X) (asker) Feb 19, 2008:
They are the deck-fitter supplying the yard.
Tony M Feb 19, 2008:
Is this 'fournisseur' the supplier of the teak to the decking-fitter, or is it the decking fitter supplying to the boat-owner?

neutral Tony M : You're assuming a typo for 'indiquera', which I agree seems likely; but we must be careful here... / I agree, but it's just possible there could be a special technical meaning here...

Yes,Tony...it's just that, personally, I love making verbs out of nouns, but "mark", "advise" etc come back to "point out" ?
agree Michael GREEN : Although "indicer" might be intended, it doesn't seem appropriate in this context. But as you say, it all comes back to "point out" anyway.

neutral Tony M : Does the verb 'indicer' even exist in FR? Surely it would be 'indexer' (cf. indexation)? // D'accord !
