As your sentence indicates, bricks can be fired a second time. Usually this is done when a glaze has been applied but it can also be done to achieve the same effect as 'over-fired' bricks (your other question), i.e., the bricks will become darker and more vitreous.

agree Bryan Crumpler : yes, bricks smoking weed, I think SO! :-) not... / Throwing weed into the mix would create special effects alright... but not those kinds of special effects either!

Thanks Bryan. Actually... you can throw weeds into a kiln to achieve special effects but not that kind of weeds.
