For constant current loads, current is approximately constant as the voltage decreases. Running dc motors can be approximated as constant current.

On considère que, pour les charges à courant constant, le courant est constant 'en première approximation', sachant qu'il ne l'est pas tout à fait, mais que cela n'a pas d'importance pour le cas de figure. A noter qu'on trouve dans la littérature 'situation idéale', puis 'première approximation', puis 'deuxième approximation'. La première approximation des uns étant la deuxième des autres.
