Japanese term

記録 (in this context)

Japanese to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng inkjet printers
context:

インク滴を吐出して記録用紙に記録するインクジェットプリンタ

Should this be translated as "print" or "record"?

Thank you!

Print out on recording medium (if not for patent. see comment.)

If this is not a patent, I think the translator is granted some flexibility in choosing the appropriate term. For a patent I would stick with "inkjet printer that records on a recording medium by discharging ink droplets" (reference link below) but if not, I might use "inkjet printer that prints out by outputting ink droplets onto a recording medium"
