I have seen many times the words from the list below as synonyms, even in renowned dictionaries. However, there are specific technical differences between. So I wanted to ask if you agree with the proposed translations below.

I dis not ask this at the terminology questions, because translationa are already proposed and I would like to avoid endless discussions on apparently polysemic terms, but that in fact are not. At least, imho.

polieren = pulir
schleifen = lijar
glätten = alisar

polieren = polish
schleifen = grind
glätten = smoothen
