Brexit has undermined my choice to work in this profession, since the UK's international relations are getting worse by the day. | | | neilmac Spanje Local time: 15:25 Spaans naar Engels + ...
Working from home means not having to be in close proximity to possible vectors of contagion. Unlike my daughter, currently working from home on furlough and under threat of redundancy, who really misses the social aspect of working in an office with a team she considers her friends, I'm quite happy with my hermit-like existence. | | | Thayenga Duitsland Local time: 15:25 Lid 2009 Engels naar Duits + ... There is little impact of world events on my decision because it had been made several decades ago. During that time there had been many crisis which also had little to no effect on my decision.

Nobody can fire me, I was already working from home and after a couple very slow months I'm working at my maximum capacity again and have even had to reject some jobs for that reason. I have also never had more time for work with other options being limited right now. Of course, I am also fully aware that there is no guarantee the work will keep coming in forever or even long enough – as I've been for the past 10 years since I'm doing this, but so far it's been good. | | | Chié_JP Japan Local time: 22:25 Lid 2013 Engels naar Japans + ...
WFH is great but people with larger companies are often staying at home and given a salary without doing anything and still keeping the job. We are very lucky about being busy, but not the luckiest considering the long term isolation since well before COVID. | | | Not something I’ve thought about | Jul 5, 2020 |

I’m not sure Brexit is what the asker had in mind😂 But neither Brexit nor Covid-19 have had any adverse effect on my business - quite the opposite. | | | Mario Freitas Brazilië Local time: 10:25 Lid 2014 Engels naar Portugees + ... But perhaps this would be a good time to look for a new job or try something new, since the market is hot looking for new professionals and offering lots of opportunities, whouldn't it? What a thoughtful poll!

Having seen a couple of close friends (in other fields) being let go from their jobs due to the economic turndown, I am glad that I can't be "fired". On the negative side, work did slow down considerably for a couple of months, but I have the option to contact potential new clients, which is easier than finding a new inhouse job. Also, my specialty certainly helps. As a bonus, while I do miss my friends and family (we've been quarantined for 100+ days here), I am spared from having ... Also, my specialty certainly helps. As a bonus, while I do miss my friends and family (we've been quarantined for 100+ days here), I am spared from having to risk my health by commuting and being in close proximity to other people, and I am kind of used to not seeing people all/every day anyway.
