Muriel Vasconcellos wrote: If I understand the question correctly, my answer is 'yes'. I donate a percentage of my income to charities every year - not one, but several. These donations are tax-deductible. I have done this since I first started working. I can't imagine not doing it. Same here. I've been contributing to the cause for the past 6 years, donating 20 euros/month for both. Totally affordable for me and - hopefully - extremely useful for them. | | | We donate to several charitable organizations | Jan 4, 2016 |
Some are local, some national, some international. The causes vary. There is no fixed percentage. Any further information is on a need to know basis between me and my conscience. | | | Mónica Algazi Uruguay Local time: 16:03 Lid 2005 Engels naar Spaans Direct support | Jan 4, 2016 |

but I donate regularly to disaster relief efforts, arts organizations, organizations promoting civil society and environmental organizations. If nothing else, I hope it makes Ayn Rand turn in her grave. Feeling global empathy and acting on it is a way of staying connected and kicking the idea that "selfishness is virtue" in the butt. | |

Thats new to me, seeing as they cause more destruction then good - once again, transparency. Sometimes it is good ro inform about what happens to the money you are donating and what they are doing with it - and not only that, in cas eof greenpeace, who also supports them... | | | neilmac Spanje Local time: 21:03 Spaans naar Engels + ...
No, not on a regular basis. I don't mind making occasional one-off donations to different charitable causes, but I feel I have to refuse those seeking regular payments, as a large part of my income isn't all that regular. Apart from the fact that I sometimes have to chase up clients to try to get them to pay on time, I already have enough regular outgoings with my social security payments, VAT, rent, household bills, vehicles (clutch went kaput on my car - again! - last night on way back from Xm... I already make a few donations sporadically, but it's not a percentage of my income. If I make a lot of Money, there are many institutions I'd like to assist, but I don't think I'll ever determine a percentage of my income for that purpose. | | | 564354352 (X) Denemarken Local time: 21:03 Deens naar Engels + ... Thank you for this, Hege - made my day. I give each month to Médecins Sans Frontières and a local Danish environmental organisation. Yes, it's tax-deductible but I just view that as being able to afford to give more and make my government donate at the same time (especially now it's decided to cut back on third-world assistance). Plus I support a few other organisations that give free services which I use regularly, like Wikipedia (fantastic resource), OmegaT and Calibre. And I'm sure it's cheaper than having kids. | | | When are the likes going to be introduced? | Jan 5, 2016 |
