祝贺中国载人飞船首航成功！

—— 有感中国神舟五号载人飞船遨游太空

二零零三年十月十五日


穿苍穹载人神舟升太空，
游环宇终圆华人千年梦。
寂寞星球首迎中国来客，
航天强国喜添中国猛龙。

一步登天载人首航成功，
华人遨游星际满面光荣。
笑傲国际世人刮目相看，
中国自立终成时代新宠。

中国造太空站计划之中，
华人星际旅游不再是梦。
中国人要与外星人对话，
也许还需翻译帮助沟通？！

欢欣鼓舞摆脱落后贫穷，
恶人冷言冷语无奈惶恐。
奋发图强科技不落人后，
神奇中国又造时代英雄。

神舟五号发射成功那一天，我看过的美国主要电视新闻对此事的报道没有超过30秒。采访也重点谈中国可能把太空技术应用于军事。报纸USA Today当天的头版是一个棒球迷“九天揽月” - 把一个球手眼看快接到的球变成home run - 这些似乎是美国人更关心的事情。:)

It does not really matter how others see China, we see a stronger and much stronger China is out there.

我觉得作为语言翻译者，沟通不同的文化是非常有趣而且有些“神圣”责任的。如果每个中国翻译者找机会多向国外宣传中国的变化和文化，善莫大焉？
