Catawiki is an online auction house which handles the sale of over 1,000 exceptional comic book albums and drawings every week. Our online auctions start every Friday, and end on set days of the following week. Today saw the kick-off of the first weekly Original Comic Art auction. First among this week's lots is a drawing of Spirou by Belgian comic book artist Franquin. The drawing was used in a colouring book published in 1964. This auction ends Friday, 10 April.

Suzanne de Jong founded Lacuna Translation & Editing at the start of 2016. I am someone who has always been passionate about language and a voracious reader from an early age. I never doubted that my future lay in language and communications. I studied English at Leiden University, attaining my Bacherlor’s degree in English Language & Culture, after which I also completed a Master’s degree in Linguistics: Translation in Theory and Practice.
During my time as a master student in Leiden I gained experience in translating all sorts of texts, from medical, legal and technical documents to promotional material, advertisements, slogans, and so on. We also translated literary texts (poems, short fiction, excerpts from novels, etc.). From newsletters and websites to manuals and internal business communication, we saw and translated it all. Moreover, I completed specialised modules dealing with multimodal translation (think comic books or other text types which include a visual domain) and audiovisual translation (primarily subtitling). I translate from English to Dutch ànd Dutch to English.
Literary translation is my main passion, but I consider it a wonderful challenge to get to apply my passion for language to any tekst type. I also do tekst editing of any of the above-mentioned text types/genres, both in English and in Dutch.
