Le contact des voyageurs ou de leurs bagages avec les éléments du train tant intérieurs qu'extérieurs sous l'effet du choc, du déplacement ou du stationnement des voyageurs dans les voitures est considéré comme « usage normal ».
L’adjudicataire tiendra compte de cet usage normal pour la conception des trains.
Les équipements, aménagements et éléments de garnissage doivent être étudiés pour être non agressifs vis-à-vis des utilisateurs et de leurs effets personnels.
Une attention particulière doit être portée sur la suppression des risques de coincements de membres et doigts dans les équipements tels que les cache-montants, les sièges, les barres de maintien et les moyens d’appui.
Les aménagements au contact des voyageurs doivent être non salissants.
Les aménagements doivent être sans volume susceptible de recueillir des détritus.
Ils doivent privilégier l’évacuation naturelle des liquides, poussières et saletés.
Les revêtements doivent s’entretenir facilement de par leur nature, relief et mise en œuvre.
Ils doivent supporter les agressions associées aux actions de nettoyage.
Le soumissionnaire doit garantir que les produits de nettoyage couramment utilisés à la STIB (voir A_PULSAR_699a et A_PULSAR_699b) sont utilisables pour les matériaux installés.
La matière extérieure des revêtements doit résister à l’eau, aux huiles et graisses, au white-spirit, aux produits de peinture, aux produits anti-graffiti, …
La norme NF F31-112 « Protection vis-à-vis des graffiti » est applicable.
Toutes les dispositions doivent être prises dans les choix de conception pour dissuader et minimiser les conséquences des actes de vandalisme tels que graffiti, lacération, démontage, casse, blocage de dispositifs, introduction d’objets dans les équipements et mécanismes.
Dans ce contexte, la norme NF F31-118 « Revêtement anti-vandalisme » est applicable.
Les différents composants de l’aménagement intérieur doivent être démontables de manière à permettre l’accès aux équipements sans maintenance préventive, à l’ossature de voiture et aux chemins de câblage pour inspection et/ou réparation.
Les différents composants de l’aménagement intérieur du compartiment voyageurs doivent avoir des dimensions et des masses réduites, avoir un minimum de types différents et être interchangeables.

Parois et cache-montants
Aucun démontage de revêtement intérieur n’est admis pour accéder aux équipements soumis à maintenance préventive, à leurs connecteurs et leur mécanisme de réglage.

Frises, trappes d’accès et armoires
Les frises installées de part et d'autre du plafond sur toute la longueur de la voiture doivent être ouvrantes pour permettre l'accès aux mécanismes des portes et à tous les équipements installés dans ces logements.
Une frise ne recouvrant aucun équipement ne doit pas nécessairement être ouvrante.
L’ouverture des frises et trappes d’accès doit être réalisée avec un dispositif adapté.
Un dispositif de sécurité manœuvrable à la main doit empêcher l’ouverture brutale ou le décrochement de celles-ci.
Les frises doivent être maintenues en position ouverte grâce à un dispositif simple et robuste intégré dans la frise.
L’implantation d’armoires ou zones techniques en dessous des sièges voyageurs est interdite.

The various components of the interior design should be such that when dismounted there should be access to the devise, without need for preventive maintenance; there should be access to the bare-bones body shell of the Coach and access to the wiring system for the purpose of inspection and/or repairs.
The dimensions and weights of the various components of the interior design of the passenger compartment should be small, there should be a minimum of the different types and they should be used interchangeable.
3.3.2.8.1.2.
Linings and safes
Dismantling of interior lining is prohibited on accessing devices that are undergoing preventive maintenance, accessing their convectors and their adjustment mechanism.

Friezes, access trap doors and cupboards
Friezes that have been placed all over the ceiling on the entire length of the coach should be Friezes that can be made to open in order to grant access to the doors mechanisms and to all devices installed in those compartments.
A frieze that does not enclose any device does not need to be one that can be made to open.
Opening of friezes and access trap doors should be carried out by means of a specialized mechanism.
A hand operated security device to prevent the abrupt opening or release of the device.
The friezes should be maintained in an open position thanks to a simple and robust mechanism integrated in the frieze.
It is prohibited to fit in cupboards or technical zones beneath the passenger seat.
