I am a native English speaker and have been living in the Netherlands since 1993. I am fluent in Dutch. I have been a translating Dutch to English (UK/US/SA) and editing since 1994 (19 years).

I graduated with a BA Honors degree in Political Philosophy and Film, and majored in Philosophy, Psychology and English in my Bachelors. While I also did one year in medical school and have an innate interest in the sciences, my real strength is in the media, new media and legal. I have written screenplays in a wide range of fields: feature films, TV drama, documentaries, TV formats, etc. I also have extensive experience in writing and translating media and marketing texts in general, including press releases, reports, advertising texts and so on. In addition, I have been translating academic texts (academic modules, test papers, students' charters, press releases, etc.) for a number of Dutch universities and universities of applied sciences. I have also done a great deal of legal translation (mainly contracts and general terms and conditions) over the years. My rates are negotiable around 10c per word (source), depending on the size of the assignment and the level of haste involved.

I work with the CAT tool, WordFast Pro, which is compatible with Trados and other tools.
