normal tympanic sound

I always translate this as 'normal tympanic sound", but possibly there is a better option

Three basic medical percussion sounds are described:
resonant, tympanic, and dull. The resonant
sound is heard over normal lung tissue. The tympanic
sound is heard over most portions of the normal abdominal
cavity.

Examination of the abdomen: There is no ascities. The abdominal wall is taking partin respiration. There are no subcutaneous veins seen on the abdomen (no portalhypertension), no out pouching in umbilical region. No hernia at linea alba.Percussion: We hear normal tympanic sound.

Peer comment(s):

agree Bryan Crumpler : Didn't think of this, since he alluded that it was a "disease". But "tympanitic resonance" (contrasting to "hypertempanie" or "demping") is viable here.

Thank you again, Bryan. What I was wondering about is whether there was a better alternative for the adjective 'normal', but I never found it.
agree Josephine Isaacs (X) : I think this is fine. But not many google hits, may there is another term

intermittent tympanites (or tympany or tympanism)

tympany/tympanites interchangeable

"A distention of the abdomen resulting from the accumulation of gas or air in the intestine or peritoneal cavity. Also called meteorism, tympany."

tympanism, tympanites

"drumlike distention of the abdomen due to air or gas in the intestine or peritoneal cavity."

Saunders Comprehensive Veterinary Dictionary, 3 ed. © 2007 Elsevier, Inc. All rights reserved

Basically, the person has gas and is likely farting (pardon my french) often and at varying intervals.

I selected "medium" because I don't know if "wisselend" here is supposed to me "varying", "intermittent", "fluctuating". In any case, it's coming and going.
