You should be able to see a complete list of Blue Board outsourcers accepting applications here:

Only the outsourcers you qualify to apply for are shown, but you can submit your application for as many businesses as you want because you are a ProZ.com paying member (non-members can submit up to three applications per month). You can see a full list of the benefits you can enjoy as a member here.

To apply, just click on "Apply now" next to the business name. This will pop-up an application form where you will be able to write a message for the outsourcers containing detailed information about yourself, highlight your skills, list your experience, or even insert your resume.

Hi
Does anyone know how to send private messages to translation agencies from the Proz Directory? I mean through Proz website, not their email addresses.
There was a time when you would see an envelope icon but I can't see it anymore.

I reckon it will be pretty hard to find any decent collaborators here after smudging "friends and 5-star Proz members" the way you did. You might as well delete your post to avoid harming yourself any further:-)

In case you haven't noticed, project management is a separate profession requiring a great number of skills in organization, managing human factors (see para. one), logistics, forecasting, planning etc etc. Starting with selecting and putting together a manageable, closely fit team of creative people with big egos (YES, we all have plenty of that, it's the nature of the beast!!) , which is a huge task in itself but pays off tenfold when accomplished. Unless, of course, the goal is to make a lot of money by sticking together herds of unknown 1-2-cent geniuses and pocket the rest but the crowd gathered was of a somewhat different nature, as I conclude from the context.

You may not be anxious to mess with it and that's perfectly fine but expecting to throw some feed to the lifestock and sit around waiting for bacon and steaks to grow on its own is... not someone else's fault, to put it mildly. Sounds like not everything went wrong exclusively on the translators' side...

I need an "agency's team" of interpreters, to push all the responsibility upon the agency, no additional headaches for me or my client.
I outsourced translation and interpreting to freelancers, including my friends and Proz 5-star paying members, will never do it again, it's far worse than tending sheep (did that too).

You probably mean this, but the freelancers' directory does have this feature:

Halfway down the page: Location, within X miles of Y.

I agree that although many businesses operate online these days, some clients need a service provider in a physical location, and "country" or "continent" is not fine enough.

Filtering by country does not help me, because I am speaking about the USA, not a small country like Iceland.

A couple of minor technical side notes:
= Your link to "Business directory" takes the viewer to the same forum topic.
= The "Business directory" is not present in the site menus, there are "Translation companies" instead. When I clicked on the menu item, I was taken to the page you refer to, its title is "Translation agencies & companies". A "fail" for inconsistency, I'd say.

I am trying to find a team of interpreters for my client, but I cannot find the "location" filter in the agency search. Does is exist? Is it restricted to paying members only? Am entirely mistaken?

Someone can help?

My profile is not showing at all in the translators' directory, even though I am a professional member, I have my language pair set (En to Fr), clients positive feedbacks, and listed many general & specialized fields. My profile shows as completed 100%.

I emailed support few days ago but never got any response yet.

Also: I have requested a Native Language Verification on March 16th, 2023, which is still pending:

Your application has been submitted and verification is pending. You will receive a site message when a decision has been made regarding your verification.

Hmm, how shall we explain this without talking about politics (which is against forum rules)? I'm going to assume that you are genuinely confused and are genuinely looking for a neutral, objective answer.

Traditionally, Palestine is just another name for Israel. Or rather, Israel is just another name for Palestine. Or rather, Palestine is a region, and the country Israel occupies most of that region.

Since about fifty years ago, most people use the word "Palestine" for the parts of Israel that are under martial law, and they use the word "Israel" for the parts of Palestine that are not. They use "Palestine" for the parts where one half of the population may only enter and leave with police permission and they use "Israel" for the parts where only one half of the population are allowed to buy property.

It is likely that the job poster is from a region in Israel where people use the word "Palestine" to refer to the country that they live in. You would have done a similar thing if you had posted a job.

I came across a ProZ job post ( [url removed] ) with the following template line: Poster country: Palestine. I wish to enquire, please enlighten me: where precisely is this "country" located? Which are its national anthem & currency? Which government system does it have? What's the International Call Code of the country "Palestine"?

Due disclosure: The official address in the translation agency's profile says "Palestinian Territory". This has a different meaning, in both the semantic and geopolitical aspects.

ProZ.com doesn't keep note of whether you are a sworn translator, possibly because there is no universal, international definition of a "sworn" translator, or possibly because ProZ.com was created in the USA where there isn't such a thing as "sworn translators".

You could try setting "Professional credential status" since being a sworn translator may be regarded by some translators as a "credential". Alternatively you can try to state the field as "legal", although strictly speaking sworn translators aren't legal translators. And from there you'll just have to visit each translator's profile separately and see if the word "sworn" appears on it.

I was looking for a sworn translator at a specific location, but was able to only set the location, not the "swornness" of the colleague. I am completely lost, please kindly advise which button I should click in order to find sworn translators only.

When I logg in I get to the page where it says Try the new version.

I can't even get to the forum page that shows all subforums by subject. No matter what route I take, I always end up on the page that shows all of the most recent posts. Whether I'm logged in or not. Whether I'm using the new homepage design or the old one.

When I choose Fora at the upper navigation line, I am sent to a new page, where posts are listed according to the subject. Only when I logg in I get to the normal forum page I'm used to since 2003.

You're right, the term was added by you to the glossary, but I can see the following messages in your question:

"The asker opted for community grading. The question was closed on 2020-07-24 18:55:35 based on peer agreement (or, if there were too few peer comments, asker preference.)"

Could these last changes be the reason? It could take a while to the term be visible for you. I'm not sure.

This is for showing or hiding your online status - someone wants to contact you via instant messenger and make sure you are online, for example. What I was referring to is the PAST activity (= when did you visit ProZ last time?).
