بالفعل يا أستاذ محمد، يقال "تصويبة ثلاثية النقاط" في حالة قيام اللاعب بتسديد رمية واحدة وفي حالة التصويب الصحيح يُمنح الفريق 3 نقاط دفعة واحدة
لكن
a three-point look = تشير تحديداً إلى منطقة الثلاث نقاط، أي أن اللاعب يقف وراء خط الثلاث نقاط ويقوم بتسديد رمية واحد
لذلك، فإن التفسير الدقيق في رأيي هو ترجمتها إلى " رمية من وراء/خلف خط الثلاث نقاط

إذا شاهدت الفيديو، ستجد أن اللاعب لم ينجح في إحراز "رمية/تصويبة ثلاثية النقاط" وإن ما قام به هو محاولة لتسديد رمية من وراء خط الثلاث نقاط

هذا يتضح تماماً من مشاهدة المباراة من خلال الرابط على قناة اليوتيوب

"Pravzaprav nits ni skrivnost" would be one way of saying it more natively, but there are many other ways as well.

Is it just me or is it... weird, to say the least, that a text in (clearly) Brazilian Portuguese written by a Brazilian translator has won the English to European Portuguese pair contest? Shouldn't it be some kind of vetting process in all this?

I spent ages checking and rating all the different translations of an overly long text. What a waste of everyone's time if there is no winner.

Why not ask someone who didn't enter to judge it, or award the prize on the basis of the ratings given to the finalists?

Translating in this contest was a good time and an interesting occasion to learn from our mates`feedback ad corrections . I have had my first experience in this contest and I am happy and very grateful even though I did not win. This rendition flows nicely. A few places still have room for further "推敲", e.g. "reckless" in the original text might require a bit stronger term than "不仔细"? All is all, nicely done!

Thank you for an interesting contest text. The rules and functionality for voting & reviewing others could have been indicated better, i.e. it was impossible to vote for others other than giving them the 1st place although I might have wanted to give somebody the 2nd place, etc. Besides, I didn't know I could actually mark somebody else's work. Was there only a specific person allocated to do that? Constructive criticism is always good for improvement, yet some markings might be seen as debatable, e.g. regarding the Lithuanian word order (of course, there are certain conventions, but since when does Lithuanian have a rigid word order, especially in literary texts?) or mistranslations (I would think it is almost impossible to translate literary texts without employing indirect translation techniques such as transposition, reformulation, adaptation, etc.). Smooth style is probably very difficult to achieve whilst staying true to the original source text but at the same time trying to sound absolutely natural in the target text. Hi Hesam,

Thank you for your interest in ProZ.com translation contests.

Please note that the language pair "English to Persian (Farsi)" did not move from qualifications phase to finals, since finalists could not be determined in this language pair. The rating points do not determine winners, only voting points during the finals phase do. The purpose of rating points is to select finalists during the qualification phase and to provide feedback to entry authors.

Language pairs that received a large number of entries (more than 7) are placed in a qualification round to ensure that an appropriate number of entries reaches the finals. Voters are asked to rate entries in two categories: "Quality of writing" and "Accuracy of translation", and the 3-7 entries that receive the highest scores will pass into the final round. However, a minimum voting ratio has to be reached in order to determine finalists, which is automatically calculated by the system. In English to Persian, as well as in other language pairs that did not receive enough ratings, this ratio was not reached and finalists could not be selected.
