I was told by the support team that her profile was deactivated due to scams.
I stopped writing her back when I suspected and thank God I didn’t give her any information.

it was a Nigerian scammer and 'her' profile has been removed.

Hello guys.
I received an email in my personal mailbox to translate a large text.
I gave the rating and the person now is asking my full name, telephone, physical address and bank name.
She said she saw my profile here on Proz.com webpage.
But when I click to see her profile it appears "Profile not found".
She said she agreed with the the price per word, the deadline is a month and she said she would pay cashier's check.
She said she would pay before I finish it.
Is it normal?

It is the second time it happens.
The first time, when they requested my physical address I moved backwards.
Nowadays there are so many scammers that we cannot trust anyone.

Sorry!

[*] Open the "Translation Memories" view.
[*] Open the TM you want to use
[*] In the list on the left hand, right click on the TM
[*] In the menu, choose the option "Settings"
[*] On the left hand side, click on "Language Resources"
[*] Double click on "Abbreviation List" on the right half of the window
[*] Edit the abbreviation list according to your needs.
[/list]

Having done this, the edited abbreviation list will be used while segmenting new files (so it won't help you with existing projects).

Also, in case you are using more than one TM for any project, segmentation will always use the setting of the TM that is the first in the project setting TM list.

I haven't got the foggiest idea what you mean. On top of what list? And in project settings under Translation Memories ma Language Resourses leads me ro norhing.

Hi Paul,

This is a TM specific setting (under Language Resources). Don't forget that the TM has to be in the top position in the TM list while preparing the project.

Hallo!

als Übersetzer für Französisch bereite ich mich momentan auf die staatliche Prüfung. Dafür suche ich einen deutschen Kollegen/eine deutsche Kollegin, der/die mit dem Sprachpaar FR>DE arbeitet und der/die auf ein Übungstandem Lust hätte. Weil diese Prüfung Übersetzungen in die Ausgangssprache einschliesst, stelle ich mir diese Übung so vor: Ich übersetze Texte ins Deutsche, du übersetzt Texte ins Französische, wir treffen uns regelmässig und wir korrigieren uns gegenseitig. Kurze mündliche Übersetzungen aus dem Stegreif wäre auch eine interessante Übung. Mein Fachgebiet für diese Prüfung ist Wirtschaft.

Achtung: Ich suche ein Übersetzungstandem, kein allgemeines Tandem, um die Sprache zu lernen.

I spend a lot of time in my home office and I want to make it a cosy and pleasant place. I love to see other people's setups for inspirations, and here is my home office setup.

I set one desk to a height where I can do some work standing up, because many sources say one should not sit for too long for health reasons.

You can submit photos of your workspace, with a short optional comment on your setup via support request ( [url removed] ) or send them to [email removed] .

The feature is starting simple. For the moment, I'm asking everyone to submit their pics + comments and I'll take care of adding them (this may change in the future). For the time being, comments can be entered for each photo by visiting the album via the link at the bottom left of the slideshow. Commenting on individual pictures by others may also be improved as we move along.
