"The researchers attached a cargo of polystyrene beads to the backs of green algae cells and used light to guide them up and down the chambers.…The team have coined the term “microoxen” for the load-bearing microbes." This is a newly coined term, in Germen e.g. the term "Mikro-Ochsen" was coined, in French we will propose "micro-sherpas" (as found on this forum!) and/or microporteurs. Is there already a Dutch equivalent? Any ideas?

Hallo Walther, your Feedback doesn't seem to appear on this page anymore...? For a more neutral term you could use micro-lastdrager (a bit longer, but distinguishes from a carrier of e.g. diseases)

Thanks Harry, micro-ezel does make sense, as we have already come accross similar suggestions in other languages. Is there maybe also a more neutral term such as the French: "microporteurs"? micro-drager or something like that?

agree  Jooske: en micropaarden worden al in een andere omgeving gebruikt (ruitersport), microossen zonder - is onherkenbaar en lijkt op iets anders. microezels ook ;-)
