Background
Born and raised in Germany, I moved to Belgium more than 15 years ago and now speak (Flemish) Dutch like a native, and get exposed to French with great frequency as well. I graduated from Erasmushogeschool Brussels with a Master's degree in translation, and through a diverse career in the language industry, international e-commerce and canine massage therapy (yes, really!), I also acquired near-native English skills.
What really matters to me in life is connecting people, and what better way to do this than enabling understanding across languages.
Projects
I specialise in localisation of web and app content from English, Dutch and French into German. I will go deeper than just "swapping" one language for another and adjust your content to the subtle preferences of your target audience. E-commerce, services or products, I can find the right tone of voice for your audience and am happy to provide you with a list of terms to ensure consistent translation for all future projects.
Other subjects matters I have translated: technical manuals and product descriptions; government reports on environmental protection, garbage disposal strategy and vulnerable children; press releases; a museum catalogue for a railway museum; tourism brochures and guidebooks; letters and business documents; etc.
I'm not afraid to sink my teeth into unfamiliar subject matters - in fact, I enjoy the challenge -, but will only accept projects if I'm confident that I can deliver excellent quality.

I have worked with nearly a dozen different CAT tools and am happy to use the tool of your choice, or my own CAT tool, MemoQ or Trados Studio 2021.
