Hello all!

I urgently require information about what should be my salary expectations for such a role. Apparently there is a relocation package as part of the deal.

The company (Medical field) is in the Maastricht (Herleen) area. It is an in-house, full time, permanent position as a translator to both translate and coordinate translation assignments with a pool of translators and outsources in the EN ES pair.

Regards and many thanks in advance,

Just taking a guess...

I 'm thinking the average inhouse translator will earn about 2300-2600 euro, per month...

So maybe add on 400-500 euro if you're a manger of inhouse translators, remove 100-200 if you are "only" an admin role for translation manager (outsourced to freelance translators).

Not sure, but Heerlen sound a little less expensive compared to the Amsterdam, Rotterdam or The Hague, maybe the salaries are a bit lower still...

As part of a relocation package, try to have an annual visit to your country ( flights), international school for your kids, and Dutch Language lessons to supplement your income...

& Welcome to the Netherlands!

Medtronic?? Jul 30, 2007

Hi Yolanda,

Are you going to apply for the Linguistic Specialist position at Medtronic? I work there as a linguistic specialist (for Portuguese) as well and think it all depends on whether you get a Medtronic or a contract via an agency.

Warm regards,
Evelyn

Agency - company Aug 31, 2007

It depends on if you applied for the position via the company site or the agency site.

So, keep us updated.

I am already waiting for a result Sep 3, 2007

Maybe next week or the next I will know something more definite.

As soon as things look clearer, I am sure I will be posting a new topic regarding suggestions to move to the Netherlands and what to read to deal with the culture shock.

Regards,

Y

For an NGO - you get paid in Karma-points most likely... Jan 17, 2015

Especially if it's humanitarian or some other cause or charity...

otherwise, minimal salary (inhouse) of 1500 euro or something presumably...

freelance? as much as they can afford, or need you (specialised, legal ?) or if they cannot find somebody (including students) to do it for free...

(all rates are for full time, 40 hour/week jobs of course)...
- Hey, we're Dutch! - cheap is our middle name
