I have worked with a client but I hate to deal with business issues, I am looking for a project manager in the US to take care of business matters on my behalf, in the US because we may need to be on the phone occasionally. Any leaders? Thanks in advance.

I understand that you would prefer the translation. However, to your credit, the English translation you provided was very good. The Physician we have on staff reviewed your sample. He felt your skills would be better suited to "localize" the translation for the potential participants in the states.
真是欲哭无泪...希望不要寄机器翻译来就好.

我都差点忘了要保留权利,所辛有另一位同仁提醒. 
哭是因为一心就想翻译,特别是那是一篇与医学有关的文章. 我还没达到乐音您的境界,有时还是要作作sample的(比如这个),感觉有点白作了,因为没有达到目的,下次会引进几处错误以达到目的.嘻嘻.

文笔好的人修改别人的翻译往往比自己翻译的效果更好。中文如此，其它语文也如此。

如果译文不是太差，不妨做一下editing试试。若遇到好的译文，做起来也挺省事，收益高于translating的情况也是常有的。
很多翻译社都采取这一方针：让报价低者做translating，翻译价高者做editing，因为一般人不会把editing的价格报得很高。你以后报editing价格时可报高些。
不愿做editing是普遍现象。

BB 4/5. 只好象乐音说的，review了译文再说吧。少说那译者也是交了sample的。fingers crossed.

非常同意，当然前提是那个“别人”的水平也不低。这也是取人之长，进一步提高自己的好机会。

既然该Physician看了Pei Ling的译文，他必然也看了别的应试者的译文，所以译文不会太差。很可能该译者的母语不是英语，英文不如Pei Ling流利、规范，他们才让Pei Ling做editing。

在上轨道的翻译公司里，reviewer 和 editor 的等级大约相同，他们的薪给也相似。从 PM 给霈霖的信里可以看出，该公司已经鉴识到霈霖的才能，所以会老实说出希望她做 editing 的工作。基于 reviewer 和 editor 等级相仿，霈霖已具有条件要求较高的价钱。霈霖可以清楚明白提出翻译最低价的 editing 的价码，根据我的经验，上轨道的公司会欣然接受。

我的最低同仁價是 0.04，業者價是 0.06，特急同仁價是 0.06，特急業者價是 0.08，正常價就不必提了。你得看你自己想定位在哪裡；定得太低會忙得要死，卻無論在金錢的報償或知識的增廣上都沒有多大收穫；所以需要一段時間累積經驗才會找到恰當的定位。
Note: 我的是譯入中文的，所以只能當參考用。

由於人人都有生存權，人人都會選擇對自己最有利的方式做。如果雙方協商的結果是雙方滿意的，兩分錢做 editing 也是正常的。
我的一家客戶在新加坡，給我八分的時候，我給別人是六分，留下兩分作為審潤編輯的費用。後來我乾脆把八分錢都讓給了譯者，讓他們直接做。最近該公司又來找我做，我要了一毛錢，給另一位譯者七分，自己留了三分作 為審潤編輯的費用。
記得有業者告訴我，他要的只是廉價的一般譯者，不需要像我這樣昂貴的資深譯者。我覺得他很老實，也就從來不再想到要和他合作。
老實說，如果認為做 proofreading/editing 價太低划不來，就像我前頭說的方法，把這種差事的價碼提高，願者上鉤。要不就如同我培養我自己挑選的翻譯者，自己留個一分、兩分或三分錢也是心甘情願的。
